After his debut EP (The Golden Age Of Radio) Noir York returns with a concept album. While the EP featured electro swing and nu-charleston tunes inspired by the swing-era, now he jumped forward to the 40’s and 50’s for inspiration. Most of the tracks on the Red Light Hotel album have strong influence of noir movies. The listeners could easily imagine themselves to a bar where Dick Tracy enjoying his whisky, and Iceberg Slim doing his suspicious business in a dark corner. Next to the moody nu-jazz sounds, you’ll find a touch of electro-swing in tunes like “Noctrune” and “Revolution”.
